Frequently asked questions

Updated August 21, 2026

Straight answers for agency owners looking at a platform or metro listing. No jargon, no pitch deck.

New to surety: Surety Bonds Explained. How the book grows: Grow. Closing and transfer: Acquisition.

Technical & infrastructure

I'm an agent, not a developer. Do I need to know code?

No. You won't be writing or maintaining code. We handle setup and the ownership transfer with you. Once the platform is in your accounts, it runs as a straightforward intake pipeline — submissions show up in a simple dashboard or can route into tools your team already uses.

What will hosting cost me every month?

There are no fees owed to Vertical Reserve after you own the asset. Sites run on serverless edge hosting (typically Cloudflare Pages). At normal launch traffic, that usually stays in free or low-cost tiers. You scale with volume — not a legacy server bill.

What happens technically after Escrow closes?

When terms are agreed, closing goes through Escrow.com. After funds clear, we move ownership account-to-account: GitHub repo to your organization, domain and DNS into your Cloudflare account, plus documentation for what's live. No zip-file dump. Metro listings also show a fulfillment window on the listing (often 7–14 business days after Escrow) — that's separate from the account transfer itself.

Running it day to day

How do submissions reach my producers?

By default, intake lands in a dashboard you can open from any device. If you prefer, we can set up webhooks to push new submissions into your AMS or CRM — HubSpot, Salesforce, AgencyMatrix, and similar — so your desk sees qualified risk profiles without re-keying.

Can I trust the forms for compliance?

Intake is built around state and product context — license categories, identifiers, and formatting aligned to official filing frameworks where the platform targets a bond or permit file. The goal is clean data before it hits your desk. It does not replace your compliance review or binding authority.

Do I need a license to buy and run a listing?

For surety and commercial capture platforms, yes — you need applicable producer or agency licensing and carrier appointments to bind business from intake. You're buying infrastructure, not a license, appointment, or book. Check the listing and Acquisition page for that SKU's operator requirements.

What am I not buying?

Not an agency, not a book of business, not appointments, not licenses, and not trailing revenue. You're buying the digital platform — brand, domain, code, and capture architecture for the market on the listing.

What's the difference between a 5-pack, 4-pack, Full Surety shop, and a court platform?

Geography sets the pack. Core Metro Platforms with Freight Market is five domains — construction leads, freight desk included. Core Metro Platforms is the same stack without freight. Full-service surety businesses are the town shop on one domain. Court & probate is the law-firm file, not a contractor shop. You take one listing for that metro. How the book grows is on Grow; how you close is on Acquisition.

What are contractors license bonds and permit bonds — and why do they matter for capture?

Before many trades can pull a municipal permit or hold an active state contractor license, they need a contractors license bond or a permit bond — often tied to a new license application, a city permit file, or a reinstatement after a lapse. Those are high-intent, deadline-driven searches. The platform intercepts that moment with intake mapped to licensing and permit context; the bond opens the relationship, and cross-sell grows the commercial book after.

Who typically buys a metro exclusive?

Established commercial agencies, large independents, and PE-backed brokerages that want a localized capture site aligned to their state license — a satellite storefront for one metro, not a generic national lead form. Underwrite it like infrastructure plus cross-sell potential, not guaranteed traffic or revenue.

Why it’s worth it

Why not just buy Google Ads or shared leads?

Ads and lead brokers are monthly expense — stop paying and the pipeline stops. Specialty commercial and surety terms are expensive to rent. A finished capture platform saves months of explaining insurance intake to outside developers. Payback comes from accounts you write, especially cross-sell after the bond — not from guaranteed traffic. See Grow for how to model that.

We're a commercial shop. Why does a surety platform matter?

Surety is the door, not the whole book. A bond filing puts you in front of the account at a moment they have to act. Intake captures who they are and what they operate. General liability, fleet, workers comp, and umbrella follow once trust is there — that's where the specialty book scales.

Does owning this help when we sell the agency someday?

Rented traffic doesn't sit on your balance sheet. An owned capture platform is intellectual property your firm controls — durable demand generation, not another marketing line item that disappears when you cancel.

Is there already revenue in these listings?

Most listings are pre-revenue digital assets. Gallery screenshots and Search Console show live architecture — not audited commission history. Underwrite the platform and the cross-sell path, not someone else's book.

Buying on Vertical Reserve

What's actually for sale here?

Finished platforms and metro exclusives: statewide BondsDirect brands, five-domain and four-domain Core Metro Platforms, Full Surety town shops, court & probate platforms, event insurance distribution, and other verticals. Metro exclusives are on Metro/City Listings. Inspire Surety is our house hub — it's not for sale here.

If I buy Arizona BondsDirect, do I get Phoenix too?

No. Statewide brands and city exclusives are separate SKUs. Metro listings in that state stay on the market until another buyer reserves them.

How do I actually buy one?

Pick a listing and inquire. When terms are agreed, closing is through Escrow.com. There's no checkout on this site — diligence first, then Escrow.

How long until it's mine and live?

Timing is on each listing. Metro geos are often 7–14 business days after cleared Escrow. Statewide brands transfer the live property as described in diligence.
